GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
ELIGIBILITY
The abstract should address an important issue in any area of cancer control (prevention, diagnosis, treatment or palliative care).
Clinical studies should abide by local regulations, including ethical review, where necessary.
- Each first author may submit a maximum of two abstracts, but may co-author other abstracts.
- Previously published abstracts are not accepted.
- If an abstract is accepted, the presenting author
must be planning to attend the Annual Meeting and must be available to make an oral presentation or to present a poster during the poster session.
Deadline for Abstract Submission is October 1st, 2008.
NO ABSTRACTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE
Review Process
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Abstract Review Committee, and determined eligible for either oral or poster presentation and/or for publication in the program.
INCTR will not undertake major editorial revisions, but reserves the right to make minor changes for purposes of publication.
- Oral Presentation: 10 minutes, to be followed by 5 minutes discussion.
- Poster Presentation: Accepted posters will be
on display on a specific day, but the author will be asked to be present with the poster for one hour at a specified time.
Notification
Notification regarding acceptance or rejection of abstracts will be made by December 15th, 2008.
Acceptance/rejection notifications will be sent via e-mail: consequently, an accurate e-mail address is essential. If written notification is not received by that date, please contact abstract2009@inctr.be
Meeting Registration and Accommodation
Please note that submitting an abstract does not imply registration for the INCTR Annual Meeting.
To register, you must complete and return an
Attendee Registration Form.
Registration and Hotel Reservation Forms, Airline and program information will be sent to you electronically and will also be available via INCTR’s website, www.inctr.org
Instructions for Preparation
- The completed Abstract Form should be sent
by email (typed in Microsoft Word format) to
abstract2009@inctr.be
- The language of the abstract must be English.
- The abstract title should be in capital letters,
except for words in which lowercase letters
have a specific meaning, such as pH. It should
be brief, and clearly indicate the nature of the
work.
- The name of the presenting author should be
underlined.
- Please do not include degrees or titles.
- The entire abstract, including title, author(s),
institution, and text must be submitted on
the form provided within the allocated space.
- An example of a completed abstract form
is provided. Please conform to this model in
preparing your abstract, including use of the
sub-titles (Background, Materials and
Methods, or Patients and Methods, Results,
Conclusion(s)).
- Objective information should be included so
that reviewers can make a fair and meaningful
appraisal.
- Case reports will not be accepted.
- Abbreviations are allowed but must be clearly
defined unless widely understood.
- Abstracts may not contain any illustrations or
tables.
- The abstract should be typed single spaced in
Times New Roman font size 12.
- Abstracts should be carefully reviewed for
grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- If there is a problem with the abstract’s format,
we will send it back and allow you to resubmit.
